Lausanne, 8. December 2014. Last week marked a historical moment with the launch of the first-of-its-kind Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business. The program, being a product of collaborative effort of the (EHL), Conrad N. Hilton College at the University of Houston and the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), is split into three semesters, hosted by the three schools on three continents (watch trailer).
The objective, as formulated by Dr. F.Fresnel, Dean of Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, is to "educate next generation of global hospitality professionals". Next generation, which would challenge outdated mindsets and structures. Next generation, which would bring in innovative ideas and strong leadership into global intercultural teams. Due to the unique nature of the program students will have an unprecedented opportunity to gain in-depth local market knowledge, understand latest developments in the industry and build extensive intercontinental alumni networks. All of that, while having the time of their lives. Needless to say, the ambitious initiative has received a strong enthusiastic support from the industry.
Contribution to education has been part of our founding philosophy and our values. We strongly believe that only a strong partnership between the industry and the Academia can ensure that new talents joining the industry are equipped with the right set of tools to tackle emerging and continuously changing challenges in the industry. In 2013 we had started development of our own Demand Management bootcamp.
